A beautiful and different kind of plant in my collection!! When I received it in Apr 2026, it was packed very well but the caudex had come out of the pot as the plant substrate was sand which had dried out. I thought the plant was dead as there was hardly any roots. I called Prince, sent picture of what I had just received and he assured me that the plant is alive and fine and that it generally has very delicate roots. I put the caudex back in the pot, watered it and watched it grow beautifully over a period of time! It does drop some leaves on and off. Its nice to see the leaves close at night. Its almost 3 months now and doing great!! Thank you Prince and thank you Soiled for adding a rare beauty to my collection. I wish you would also sell other rare caudex plants like dioscorea elephantipes and Stephania erecta.

Phyllanthus mirabilis is a rare, small, slow-growing perennial shrub native to Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar. It is notable for its unique caudex, a swollen woody base that stores water, helping it survive in arid conditions. The plant features small, glossy, oval-shaped leaves that display nyctinasty—meaning the leaves fold together at night and open again in the morning.
