Philodendron Dark Lord is a must-have for any philodendron collector. The foliage on this philodendron begins deep orange, changes to blood red, and finally to a deep dark green top with a metallic maroon underside. The growth rate and leaf color of Dark Lord will vary greatly depending on soil type, sunlight, temperature, and other factors.

Watering

The Philodendron Dark Lord is a water-loving plant. However, overwatering can lead to fungal infections and death. Before watering, make sure the soil is dry.

Potting Mix

These Philodendrons enjoy a well-drained but moist, rich organic mix. Remember try to stay away from wet, mucky, or dry, sandy soils.

Light

We would recommend keeping these tropical plants in medium to bright indirect sunlight. In summers, a spot with partial shade is perfect.

Initial Care (After receiving the plant)

  • Leave the plant in its nursery pot for a day. if the soil is looking dry and leaves are drooping, water the plant and keep it in a shady location for a day.

Light

Philodendrons require medium to bright, indirect light. Place it near an east- or west-facing window, but out of direct sunlight.

Water

Water your philodendron deeply and then allow the top inch or two of soil to dry out before watering again. Water until it runs out of the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot.

Growing Media

A good potting mix for philodendron plants should be well-draining, rich in organic material, and slightly acidic. Some gardeners recommend a mix of two parts peat moss, two parts potting soil, and one part perlite or sand. For increased drainage, you can also add a few handfuls of pumice or organic matter such as compost or worm castings.

Recieved the dark lord and philo bippenifollium today. I was really worried of them as it got stuck in the transit for two weeks due to lockdown here. But surprisingly when I opened the box, both the plants are so fresh and not a single leaf damage. All thanks to the perfect packing!! 👍👍👍 Thank u once again for the beautiful plants soiled.in.
