The Neolepisorus truncates is an extraordinary type of epiphytic fern, originating from southern China's limestone cliffs and north Vietnam at an elevation of approximately 5,000 feet. Its stiff rhizome grows horizontally just beneath the soil surface, giving rise to thick, leathery leaves that are about 8 inches tall and spaced every few inches. These leaves have a distinctive appearance, resembling a tongue that has licked a green and yellow striped popsicle, creating a surreal visual effect.
As a container or hanging basket plant, the Neolepisorus truncatus 'Lemon Lime' is a perfect choice. It can thrive in these settings and adds a unique touch to any home decor.

Light
Light
The Neolepisorus truncatus 'Lemon Lime Fern' prefers bright, indirect light to thrive. Direct sunlight can burn the delicate leaves, so it is best to place the plant near a window with filtered light or in a shaded outdoor location.
Water
Water
In terms of watering, it is crucial to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water the plant thoroughly once the top layer of soil feels slightly dry to the touch. Avoid letting the soil dry out completely or sit in standing water, as this can damage the roots and cause the plant to wilt.
Growing Media
Growing Media
The Neolepisorus truncatus 'Lemon Lime Fern' prefers a well-draining and nutrient-rich growing medium that retains moisture but does not become waterlogged. A mixture of peat moss, perlite, and coarse sand or bark is an excellent choice for this plant. Adding some sphagnum moss to the mix can also help maintain moisture levels. Alternatively, you can use a high-quality potting mix designed specifically for ferns or orchids. It is essential to avoid using heavy soils that can compact, leading to root rot and other issues. When repotting, make sure to provide enough space for the fern to grow and choose a pot with drainage holes to allow excess water to escape.
