Heliconia Metallica, native to the tropical regions from Honduras to Bolivia, is a striking foliage plant highly valued in landscaping for its impressive leaves. Reaching a mature height of 2-4 meters, this Heliconia showcases dark green leaves with a distinct light midrib on the upper side, while the undersides exhibit a deep maroon hue on most varieties. Some plants are all-green, adding to its versatile aesthetic appeal. Though it produces red flowers, this Heliconia is primarily sought after for its bold foliage, making it a perfect choice for Indian gardens where it thrives in warm, humid conditions.
